I caught Mr. Gates’ showcase at NS Music Week. The band is hot folks! Do not miss this show. (Sat. Nov 12th @ 1313 Hollis).

I’m heading off to NS Music Week tomorrow.
It should be fun – I’m playing with Tanya Davis, Paper Beat Scissors, & I’ve go my own showcase Friday night at Rudders’.
Good News: I’m playing a house show with Don Brownrigg on Nov.19.
Bad News: My wallet was stolen on Saturday while I went for a swim.
Good News: Rebecca Zolkower is playing violin with us at my NS Music Week showcase.
Bad News: My bike broke in 1/2.
Good News: Someone found my ID in the bushes and returned it to me.
Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s the last preview episode of Paddle To The Ocean.*Spoiler Alert!* – (I made it home.)
I’m up for a couple awards at Nova Scotia Music Week this year. If you’re in Yarmouth on Nov 4th – come on by Rudders at Midnight. I’m playing a showcase with Kris Pope on lap steel, Jordi Comstock on drums & Rebecca Zolkower on violin.
I just arrived home from Free School to find a message from Kelsey saying he finished editing Part 4 of Paddle To The Ocean.
This episode focuses on the section of the trip when I was by myself – from Ottawa to Saint John.
If you enjoy the music, come check out Don Brownrigg and myself at The A-Frame on Sept. 24th. The A-Frame is a really special house show venue in Ketch Harbour, NS.
Dave Adler – owner & operator of East Coast Outfitters was kind enough to lend Ben a kayak so that he could join Kelsey & I for the last leg of Paddle To The Ocean. THANKS DAVE!
I’m still getting organized and beginning to follow-up with my sponsors who were kind enough to support Paddle To The Ocean.
But I really want to thank all of the friends & family… & family of friends; and total strangers who helped me to complete this journey. If i forgot to mention you, please let me know.
Kelsey & I are still working on the rest of the webisodes and the full length documentary. Stay tuned….
Until then, here’s Part 3.
I arrived in Halifax yesterday evening to a warm welcome from friends. I’m really feeling loved.
Kelsey tells me we’ve got lots of work yet to do on the documentary, but I’m going to have a few naps today.
It’s good to be home.

We’ll be paddling & filming at the Shubie Tidal Bore tomorrow and the next day.
Sadly, Ben is leaving us today. We will miss his energy and culinary skills. Ben recently invented Apple-Bacon oatmeal as a trip meal.
Here’s a shot of Ben playing on a tidal rip near

Huge thanks to our friends in Rothesay for hosting Ben, Kelsey & Myself.
Cindy & Greg are very kind folks.
We’re starting the ocean portion of the trip this evening. Unfortunately we’re leaving Reversing Falls early due to poor air quality. There is a pulp mill directly across the river from where we were kayaking.
